About Hanumantha Rao Matta

Vaidya Hanumantha Rao Matta is the Chief Maharishi Ayurveda Panchakarma Consultant at MERU Health Centre. He holds a BAMS from Nagarjuna University, Andhra Pradesh (1986), and an MD (Ayurveda) from the University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh (1990), specialising in Kayachikitsa, the classical Ayurvedic discipline of internal care. With more than 35 years of experience, he provides consultations and supports Panchakarma programmes and therapist training. His training includes Nadi Vigyan, herbal preparations, and Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle protocol design.

Why he came to MERU

He came to MERU in 1991 to meet Maharishi, and that meeting led to his work in the West. Maharishi sent him to different parts of the world to lecture, to give consultations, and to make Ayurveda known as a prevention-based system of health.
